Atflee Uses BIA

Atflee's smart scales use Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA). The BIA method sends out microcurrent and calculates the resistance value to deliver the correct data to the customer. Using the difference in electrical conductivity according to moisture and electrolyte content, the amount of fat tissues without moisture is measured, and various data of the human body are calculated based on this. The body composition measurement that is commonly used in gyms and public health centers all employ the BIA method. Atflee utilizes double frequency BIA in order to provide you with the most accurate data.

Why BIA?

Besides the Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA), there exist about 10 other body composition measurement technologies in the world. However, they have not been commercialized due to either the very high cost or low accuracy. Since the early 1990s, the BIA method has been widely known and proven as a reliable body composition analysis method through various research. You do not have to worry about getting low accuracy data with our products.

Atflee Utilizes DEXA Algorithm

Dexa Stands for Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. DEXA scans are used to measure bone density through X-ray beams on the forearm. The DEXA scans are one of the most reliable forms of measuring body fat. However, it can be very costly and hard to find a center with the specific DEXA machine. Therefore, we created an algorithm using the DEXA scans into our smart scale so that our customers can find an affordable way to accurately measure their body fat. Atflee is a proud owner of a DEXA machine and and has an algorithm team that is constantly working on improving the algorithm.
